Sachse Historical Society Museum : Every beloved town has a Historical Society. The one in Sachse built its museum from parts of the deconstructed house of the town’s founding namesake. Since 1989, the Museum has collected farm, train, and what the historical society refers to as “potpourri” artifacts from across the decades. It’s a wealth of information for local history, ran by locals who work hard to preserve Sachse’s past. They most recently erected a Memorial Wall for Vietnam veterans which can be viewed in front of the town library. Visits are by appointment, so make sure you get in touch!
Heritage Park: Heritage Park is located close to the elementary and middle schools in Sachse. Located off of Hudson Drive, this 36-acre park is great for kids and families. It’s the perfect location for picnics, baseball and soccer games, as well as grilling on a barbecue. Bring a large enough blanket for the entire family, or take a seat at one of the numerous picnic tables. The park is surrounded by a three-quarters-mile paved path, but you are free to wander wherever you please. The Pavilion, located between three of the four baseball diamonds, can be reserved for special events.

Stone Park, a more tranquil alternative to the sports-focused Heritage Park, has picnic areas with tables and grills as well as a reservable pavilion. There is also a playground for kids. The small ponds in the park are popular with visitors who like to explore them in an effort to spot the various birds and even turtles that call Stone Park home. On Laurel Crest Lane, there are a few spots available for free parking.
